Although I like following housing trends, you have to take all the statistics with a large grain of salt. All real estate is local, and locally in the Redding housing market, the numbers are often too low to be statistically significant. Still, every month we get some breathless report about housing being up or down as though it were a stock market index. It’s just not. People need housing, and they often buy for emotional reasons not related to valuation. How can you predict individual emotions across regions?
